Fourplay Social: Single friends. Double dates.

Co-founded by a nurse practitioner and a physician assistant, Fourplay's mission is to create a healthier experience for singles, physically, mentally, and socially. 

Here's the problem: Dating apps have ruined the experience of being single. They turned meeting other singles into a lonely, individual-oriented experience that's usually done in isolation from the couch, swiping left and right on strangers. They put unnecessary pressure on singles, starting with the need to create the perfect dating app profile all the way through overanalyzing the first date and wondering if we'll ever hear from the person again. Worst of all, dating apps pose a genuine threat to physical and emotional safety, especially for women. 

Here's how big the problem is: In 2022 there were 366 million online dating users worldwide. According to the Harris Poll, 44% of Gen Z would rather clean the toilet, and 22% of Millennials would rather get [their] tooth pulled than go on another online date...ouch. 

Here's the solution: Create a more fun, lower pressure, and safer way for singles to meet one another by allowing friends to team up and double date other pairs of friends. 

Introducing Fourplay: A social app where single friends team up, create a shared profile, and match with other pairs of single friends. 

Early traction: In 2021 Julie and Danielle worked the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic while bootstrapping Fourplay and growing the community to 10,000 users in New York City. In 2022 the two took a leave from healthcare so they could commit full-time to Fourplay and bring the company's vision, for singles to feel equally as included, connected, and fulfilled as people in relationships, to fruition. Almost 100,000 matches later, with multiple success stories from people who formed meaningful connections from Fourplay (either romantically or platonically), Fourplay is on its way to becoming the app of choice for singles. 

Our team: Co-founded by healthcare providers (and two single best friends), we're a team unlike any other. We are bold, resilient, tenacious,  scrappy, and extremely out-of-the-box in our thinking and execution. We’re making a difference by being founders who aren’t afraid to be vulnerable in public, talk about our own struggles with self-esteem, body image, and disordered eating, and lament with our users about how the traditional dating apps have ruined the experience of being single for all of us. We value authenticity and we aren’t afraid to challenge societal norms the way bigger companies are. We are proving all the naysayers wrong who doubted that two healthcare providers with no industry experience could successfully build, launch, and scale a business in a super saturated market…and we’re just getting started! In March of 2022 Danny Barnes joined our team as our VP of Engineering. His brilliance, thoughtfulness, and exceptional attention to detail (plus his ability to put up with Julie and Danielle), made him the missing piece to our founding team. 

Our ask: We receive dozens and dozens of emails and messages on social media from singles all over the world literally begging us to bring Fourplay to their city next. Now that we've rebuilt the technology to scale we need your help so that we can expand Fourplay to more cities. The singles of America are counting on you!
