2020 Perfect Vision Campaign: Vision Clinic Reno!
Bringing vision, both literally and figuratively, to communities that need it most!
Project Description
In 2019, we launched our first crowdfunding campaign right here on iFundwomen to help us raise capital for a mobile vision clinic. Initially we didn't raise enough to purchase our own vehicle, however we did raise enough to lease a mobile vehicle from Mobile Care Chicago to bring FREE vision screenings and eye exams to Black and Latinx families in the Chicagoland area. During the Summer of 2020, we provided FREE vision health resources to five under-resourced communities in Chicago! Later that year, Dinai (creator of the 2020 Perfect Vision Campaign) was selected as one of the American Express' 100 Founder's of Change and recipient of a $25K grant!
Since 2020, we:
- Officially became a 501(c)(3)
- Partnered with VSP Eyes of Hope to provide FREE comprehensive eye exams AND prescription lenses for over 60 families during our 2022 "tour"
- Made tour stops in 10 communities in Chicago
- Were GIFTED with our very own MOBILE CLINIC!
That's right, as of early 2023, we are now the owners of our very own mobile clinic thanks to our community partner Mobile Care Chicago! Mobile Care Chicago has supported us from day one, and gifted us with one of their units they recently decommissioned. To that end, we are looking to raise money to cover the expenses needed to renovate the unit to transform it from a once asthma clinic, to our vision clinic and get it ready to service families this summer!
Mobile Care Chicago has agreed to match donations, dollar for dollar, up to $25K! With a total of $50K we will be able to offset the cost of the vehicle renovations and cover the cost of eye equipment needed for the vehicle! All funds raised will go to vehicle renovations!

Why a mobile clinic?
When we set out to launch the 2020 Perfect Vision Campaign, we did so under the auspices that we would tackle both the issues of affordability and accessibility. We wanted to meet people where they were. In their own communities.
How much will the renovations cost?
We've received a few quotes and anywhere from $50K-80K. We are hopeful that we will raise enough and can offset other cost through donations and grants.
What if you don't raise the full amount?
We will keep trying! Perhaps dial back some of the vehicle inclusions. What we won't do is compromise the integrity of the campaign.
