Connecting. Collaborating. Creating. Championing. After over a decade in the music industry, including full-time roles with Pearl Jam and Cat Stevens, I founded The Band Strategist to pursue my passion for supporting independent artists.

In the past year, I've had the privilege of working one-on-one with artists, helping them develop and execute effective digital marketing campaigns. I've seen firsthand the impact that targeted marketing efforts can have on a musician’s career. Now, I'm eager to help even more artists!
I'm launching this campaign to raise funds to improve my services and expand my offerings through online courses and digital products like release checklists, content calendars, social media guides, and more! These resources will allow me to reach a broader audience of independent musicians and provide them with the tools needed to succeed in today's digital landscape.

I bootstrapped my business with a DIY approach. Where I would’ve liked to have hired consultants, I bought books. Where I would’ve liked to have hired a professional designer, I bought templates. In my first year of running The Band Strategist, I invested over $6,500 of my personal funds in startup costs alone. This has included expenses such as business licenses, incorporation fees, website domain and registration, logo design, software subscriptions, marketing materials, and professional development courses.
As a small business owner, I understand the importance of smart financial management and ensuring that every dollar spent is a wise investment.

1. Why crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding provides an opportunity to generate early buzz, create a community around my business, and involve people in its growth from the beginning. By involving backers in the process, they have the opportunity to test out what I offer and provide valuable feedback. It's all about embracing the power of collective support and making dreams a reality!
2. When will I receive my reward?
Estimated delivery date for all items is one month after your pledge. Unforeseen challenges can arise during any project, particularly creative ones. In the event of a setback, I'll share project updates on the "Updates" section of this campaign.
3. How will I receive my reward?
- Musician's Toolkit: You will receive an email containing a PDF file.
- Release Checklist: You will receive an email containing a PDF file.
- Website Shout Out: Once the website goes live, you will receive an email notification.
- 1 Hour Consultation: You will receive an email to schedule the consultation.
- One Sheet: You will receive an email questionnaire requesting the necessary items for the design.
- EPK (Electronic Press Kit): You will receive an email questionnaire requesting the necessary items for the design.
4. What’s the difference between an EPK and a One Sheet?
Good question! An EPK (Electronic Press Kit) is a comprehensive page that lives on your website and features downloadable files (bio, press photos, logo, stage plot, rider, etc.) Press & booking agents can easily access everything in one place without having to ask you to send email attachments.
A One Sheet is a PDF document you can use to introduce yourself to industry folks. It is an attachment you'll email out. Think of it as a resume for your music that may feature a short bio, a few press quotes, career highlights, social media stats, etc. You can even spotlight an upcoming release! My One Sheets are dynamic documents with clickable links to your socials, music links, etc.
5. How can I gift a reward to a musician in my life?
That's so nice of you! Select the reward tier of your choice and in the "Message Entrepreneur" box, provide the musician's email.
6. I'm not able to make a monetary contribution at this time, how can I offer support?
No worries! Please share this campaign with your friends/family and on your socials! Thank you!
7. Are the rewards indicative of your usual pricing?
No. The crowdfunding rewards serve as a thank you for your donation and are not indicative of market value. They’re intended to be a festive way to thank you for supporting my campaign!
