Project Description
Hey everyone! It's Sissy :)
I’m recording my first album of original music, which has been something I’ve wanted to do for a veerryyy long time. I was in the 7th grade when I wrote my first song to help me process something I was going through, and ever since then writing music has been the main way I’m able to work through my thoughts and feelings. Listening to other peoples’ music has facilitated me to be able to move through my own emotions in such a healing way and I hope that by sharing my music I’ll be able to do that for other people as well!
As an independent artist, I am self funded - meaning in order to make music I need to pay for the recording process, mixing, mastering, hiring the musicians and engineers, recording studio rentals, promotional photos, publishing costs, marketing, song placements etc. etc. Without the help of a label to organize things for me or cover any of the costs this all becomes prohibitively expensive. That’s where your help comes in!
The community I’ve built over the years is one of the most beautiful and important things in my entire life. While I’ve historically struggled to ask for help when I need it, I’m finally taking the steps to listen to all my beautiful friends who’ve encouraged me to reach out when I need them and I am asking for your help in raising funds to make this record.
By helping me raise my goal of at least $8,000 you will help me create jobs for my team of 8-10 people whom I have been working with to make this record possible as well as realize my dream of putting out my own music into the world. If we raise $8,500 I can afford an extra studio day to record another song. If we raise $9,000 I can make a music video for my first single! If we raise $10,000 or more I will be able to hire someone to help me with press releases for all of the singles I will be putting out leading up to the release of my album which will allow more people to hear my music and really further my career in a lasting and impactful way.
My full time job here in Nashville for the last 8 years has been supporting others in achieving their musical goals and visions and I am so excited to finally be in a place where I’m doing that for myself. I want to purchase more than one reward. Can I do that?
For sure! You're able to add multiple rewards to your cart at one time before you check out.
I just want to contribute, and not purchase a reward. What do I do?
The first reward listed is "Monetary Option". Select this reward, type in the amount you'd like to contribute, and that amount will be added to the fund when you check out.
I want a certain reward, but I'd like to contribute more than the reward price. What do I do?
Select the reward you would like to purchase, then select the "Monetary Option" reward as well and fill in the additional amount you would like to contribute. Both amounts will be added to your total!
What types of payment do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, etc. as well as stripe and PayPal payments. Please let me know if you need an alternate payment method (Like Venmo or Cashapp, or even mailing a check). We can work something out! My Venmo is @sissy-dinkle
Also please let me know if there are any glitches or you're having trouble submitting a contribution. I will work with you to make sure we get the problems worked out together!
When will your album be released?
I'm hoping to have the recording process completely finished by the end of the year and if that's the case I'll be able to start releasing songs by January or February 2024!
Why $8,000?
As I talked about on my homepage, making a record is a lot more than simply writing songs and setting up a microphone. It takes several people performing several different jobs to make everything come together musically as well as a photo and video crew and editors to make content come to life in order to bring you a product you will love and come back to again and again. And then once that's finished it takes a completely separate team of people to get the publishing and marketing information and materials together so the music and visual content we've spent time, energy and money creating actually reaches listeners and viewers! At the end of this process and between all the workers it takes to make and release a record $8,000+ goes very quickly.
